Phoenix Learning Resources, the Skills Company, provides a wide array of quality educational materials, reaching and helping students from the primary years through adulthood. Pennsylvania’s Initiative on Assistive Technology (PIAT)

Pennsylvania’s Initiative on Assistive Technology (PIAT) is the Commonwealth’s AT Act Program, a statewide program which assures a system of access to assistive technology devices and services for older Pennsylvanians, Pennsylvanians with disabilities, their families, and interested professionals.  PIAT’s activities, offered at no cost, include the AT Lending Library, device demonstrations, device reutilization, administration of the Telecommunication Device Distribution Program (TDDP), and AT trainings, presentations, exhibits and other public awareness activities.  PIAT serves all Pennsylvanians, regardless of age, disability, income or place of residence.  PIAT also collaborates with the PA Assistive Technology Foundation, which assists Pennsylvanians with purchasing the AT they need through low-interests loans. 

 

Reader Development Program (Free Library of Philadelphia)

The Free Library of Philadelphia’s Reader Development Program provides free books to adult learners and the agencies that them. Adults 18 and older, who live in Philadelphia, are eligible to receive books with their library card. Books are provided to adult education agencies based on the number of students they teach. Reader Development workshops are presented throughout the year to agencies’ instructional staff on the best use of teacher guides and resources.
